San Antonio

Another work trip took me to Texas but this time I was in San Antonio. It was humid as all hell but I thought San Antonio was actually a pretty neat city! I had heard a lot about the Alamo, obviously, and the River Walk but wasn’t really sure what to expect. The River Walk is pretty cool but SO crowded, I think it does save time using the walk to get to places but that’s only if you can navigate through the crowds of people and not get completely lost. Overall, I thought San Antonio had a lot to offer that I could easily see in the short time I was there.

The River Walk is much larger than I originally thought it was and I was surprised that there were no barricades from keeping people from falling in. I wonder how many people stumble off the walk into the river each year…on another note, I did not hold back on eating my way through San Antonio. Bonus about work trips, you get to expense everything! We went out to dinner each night and I had my fill of delicious food at:

  • Landry’s Seafood: this is a chain but I had never been to one before!
  • Biga on the Banks: I felt all kinds of fancy eating the lamb corn dog as an appetizer 🙂
  • Iron Cactus: don’t pass up getting dessert, the donuts are amazing! I also had the pollo relleno and el jardin (strawberry, basil and jalapeño) margarita.

Here are a few pics I took while walking around!

Loving the clean white buildings and stucco roofs
The river is a murky green color 😛
But it’s still pretty – just don’t fall in!
Hi pony!
Oh look! It’s the Alamo!
Bonus pic of sweaty me and the Alamo 🙂

Have a great week!
